Designed to accompany Federico del Rosso’s architecture—which from the ruin of an old agricultural depot created a sustainable and self-sufficient glass house inspired by Philip Johnson’s iconic original—the garden of Teca House at first glance appears simple but in fact hides important landscaping interventions and choices that marry aesthetics with sustainability.
To the south, the garden ascends by way of a serpentine winding through the wild prairie, whilst an oak and chestnut wood marks the border to its north. Closer to the house, mixed borders of grasses and ornamental berry shrubs act as natural parapets, protecting from the steep slopes below and opening up the view to the surrounding vista dominated by the Serra Morenica of Ivrea in the distance.
